PARKERSBURG SOUTH PATRIOTS VARSITY'S STRONG OFFENSE FALLS JUST SHORT TO CABELL MIDLAND

The base paths were crowded today for both offenses in a high-scoring game where Cabell Midland came out on top against Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity, 10-7. In the bottom of the third inning, Cabell Midland tied things up at one. Rianna Kingery doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Cabell Midland pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning. In the fourth Makayla Hannah threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Cabell Midland. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity put up three runs in the seventh inning. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity offense in the inning was led by Allie Taylor, Ashley Ellison, and Gigi Gerichten, all knocking in runs in the inning. Cabell Midland scored six runs in the fifth inning. Gracie Hightower, Ginny Hardin, Sydney Chapman, and Megan Nethercutt powered the big inning with RBIs. Kingery earned the win for Cabell Midland. She went five and two-thirds innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out five and walking one. Torri Kelley threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Jordan Stanley took the loss for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. She surrendered one run on five hits over three innings, walking zero. Alexis Feick, Kelly Amos, Aurora Slusher, Rhylea Graham, Kylee McCorkle, Taylor, Ellison, Gerichten, and Paige Winans all had one hit to lead Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. Cabell Midland collected 12 hits on the day. Nethercutt, Rielly Lucas, and Haylee Johnson all managed multiple hits for Cabell Midland.
