PARKERSBURG SOUTH PATRIOTS VARSITY FALLS TO WHEELING CENTRAL CATHOLIC AFTER SIXTH INNING SCORE

Saturday's game against Wheeling Central Catholic was a heartbreaker for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity, as they lost the lead late in an 8-6 defeat. The game was tied at four with Wheeling Central Catholic batting in the top of the sixth when K Ferns singled on a 2-1 count, scoring three runs. Despite the loss, Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Wheeling Central Catholic had 14 hits on the way to victory. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity got things started in the first inning. Kelly Amos drove in one when she doubled. M Gailitz was the winning pitcher for Wheeling Central Catholic. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on 11 hits, striking out eight and walking zero. Makayla Hannah took the loss for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. She surrendered six runs on seven hits over three innings, striking out three. Jordan Stanley started the game for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. She lasted four innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Aurora Slusher and Alexis Feick all collected multiple hits for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. Slusher went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity in hits. Wheeling Central Catholic tallied 14 hits. O Carpenter, A Davidson, Gailitz, Ferns, R Bennington, Julie Padden, and M Murphy each racked up multiple hits for Wheeling Central Catholic.
