FRIDAY, MARCH 23, 5:00PM EDT HUNTINGTON ALMOST ERASES 7-RUN DEFICIT IN LOSS TO PARKERSBURG SOUTH PATRIOTS VARSITY

Despite seeing its seven-run lead whittled down by the end, Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity still held off Huntington for a 7-6 victory on Friday. Huntington put up six runs in the failed comeback. C Mickallas, C Farrell, M Saunders, and H Toppins all picked up RBIs in the rally. Kelly Amos led Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity to victory by driving in four runs. She went 2-for-4 at the plate. Amos drove in runs on a single in the first and a single in the fourth. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity got on the board in the first inning when Amos singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Ashley Ellison was the winning pitcher for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. She went seven innings, allowing six runs on 12 hits and striking out one. Mickallas took the loss for Huntington. She allowed nine hits and seven runs over seven innings, striking out six. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity totaled nine hits. Amos and Paige Winans each had multiple hits for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. Winans and Amos each collected two hits to lead Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Rhylee Graham made the most plays with seven. Huntington totaled 12 hits in the game. J Fleeman, J Adkins, and K Jones all had multiple hits for Huntington.
