4-HIT DAY FOR BURNER LEADS PARKERSBURG SOUTH PATRIOTS VARSITY PAST RIPLEY

Todd Burner had a busy day at the plate on Thursday, smacking four hits in Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity's 10-7 victory over Ripley. Burner singled in the first, singled in the second, homered in the fourth, and singled in the sixth. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity earned the victory despite allowing Ripley to score six runs in the third inning. Rocky Ford, Broedy Boyce, Josh Carte, Isaac Robertson, and Kaegun Jackson all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. In the first inning, Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity got their offense started. Reece Fletcher grounded out, scoring one run. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Burner homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs. Chase Dunbar was on the mound for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity. He went two and a third innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out two. Ford got the start for Ripley. He allowed nine hits and eight runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. #10 threw three and a third innings in relief. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity launched three home runs on the day. Grant Hussey had a long ball in the first and seventh innings. Burner had a homer in the fourth inning. Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity totaled 14 hits. Burner, Hussey, and Chase Freshour each collected multiple hits for Parkersburg South Patriots Varsity.
