PARKERSBURG SOUTH DEFEATS WOODROW WILSON
Parkersburg South 81, Woodrow Wilson 77 (3 OT)
BECKLEY — It took three overtimes, but No. 2 Parkersburg South finally handed No. 5 host Woodrow Wilson a wild 81-77 setback on Tuesday evening.
Seth Fallon went off for 24 points and knocked down 7 of 8 from the foul line in the final two overtime sessions.
The 19-3 Patriots canned 15 of 30 from downtown, coming within two of the school record they set last year with 17 in a game against Ripley at Glenville State College’s Waco Center.
PSHS, which is off until 7 p.m. next Friday when it plays host to the sectional final, also got double-doubles from Cole Plants (21 points, 10 boards) and Shane Snider (10 points, 11 boards). Brayden Mooney tallied eight points with 10 rebounds, Fallon dished out eight assists and Malaki Sylvia tossed in seven markers.
The Flying Eagles (15-6) were led by Ty Walton’s game-high 25 points. Mikey Penn (23), Eddie Christian (13) and Danny Dickey (10) also had double figure scoring efforts for the hosts.
