SOUTH IMPROVES TO 4-1

HUNTINGTON — Cole Plants’ 24 points and eight rebounds led visiting Parkersburg South to a 69-58 win over Spring Valley Wednesday. Seth Fallon added a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double for the 4-1 Patriots, who made 10 3-pointers. Fallon knocked down five treys and Plants made three. TJ Meredith led Spring Valley (2-3) with 19 points, while Jacob Bailey added 11 and Caleb Fowler scored 10. South trailed 30-28 at halftime, but outscored the hosts 26-12 in the third quarter. The Patriots are back in action Friday when they play host to Cabell Midland.
